Clear and responsible petitions

A petition should describe the issue accurately, explain the requested action, and direct it to an appropriate person or institution. Supporting media and allegations must be used lawfully and responsibly.

Submission and publication

Submitting a petition does not guarantee immediate publication. Campaigns can be held as drafts or pending submissions for authenticity, policy and safety review.

Authentic signatures

Signers must represent themselves and should not submit duplicate or automated entries. The site may use account, rate-limit and verification checks to prevent abuse.

Historical records

Signatures recovered from the original AfricaChange installation may remain quarantined until their authenticity, ownership, consent and relation to the correct petition have been reconciled. Quarantined entries are not accepted public signature totals.

Public and private information

Signature visibility should follow applicable permissions and privacy controls. Private contact information and technical identifiers must not appear in public supporter lists.

Corrections and removal requests

Users can request correction or removal of information, subject to reasonable verification and lawful record-retention obligations. See .

No guarantee of outcome

Signature milestones can help demonstrate interest, but they do not guarantee a response, legal action or policy change.
